Privacy policy
Your financial information is treated as confidential, always.
This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how sensitive documents are protected.
Effective January 1, 2026
01 · Information we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, filing status, dependents, income sources and the documents you upload, such as W-2s, 1099s, identification and prior-year returns.
- Information created while we work together: notes from your tax expert, return preparation records, appointment and message history.
- Information collected automatically when you visit the public website: the pages you view and the approximate region you visit from. Newsletter subscriptions record the email address you provide and where you signed up.
02 · How we use your information
- To prepare, review and file your tax returns, and to answer your questions.
- To communicate with you about your filing, deadlines, estimated payments and consultations.
- To meet legal, regulatory and professional recordkeeping obligations, including responding to the IRS or state authorities where you have asked us to act on your behalf.
- To send tax tips, deadline reminders and seasonal newsletters. You can ask us to stop at any time.
03 · How we protect sensitive documents
- Documents you upload are stored in private storage. They are not publicly accessible and are not indexed by search engines.
- Access is limited to you and the tax professionals assigned to your return, on a need-to-know basis. Opening a file requires a short-lived signed link that expires.
- You can add a second layer of protection to your own account with multi-factor authentication, available from the app's sign-in settings.
- We use encrypted connections throughout, keep software current, and review who has access as part of routine practice.
04 · Sharing and disclosure
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use client data for advertising.
- We share information with tax authorities and software providers only as needed to prepare and file your return, or when compelled by law.
- Service providers who support our operations are bound to confidentiality and may use your information only to provide the service.
05 · Retention
- Tax records are generally retained for at least seven years, in line with professional and legal requirements for tax documentation.
- Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Testimonials you submit are public; your email address is not published.
- When records are no longer required, they are securely destroyed.
06 · Your choices and rights
- You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask about our retention of a specific record.
- You may unsubscribe from newsletters using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
- Requests can be made through our contact page. We respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity before releasing information.
07 · Children
- Our services are directed to adults. We collect information about dependents only as needed to prepare a client's return, and only from the client.
08 · Changes to this policy
- If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
